outboard exhaust housing

how does this work then... not being an outboard man, would it fit a modern mercury engine

If you want to make noise/ psychological speed, drill 3 x 10mm holes into the exhaust passage, above the cav plate each side of your lower unit. Tap them for some set screws and you can make noise or shut it up as you feel.

BTW, the noise does get a bit much after a few hrs. But it sounds COOL
