View Full Version : Lymington - Oct. 31
Planning on doing one or two tests with our raceboat before de-rigging for the winter. Was wondering if anyone else felt like bringing their boats along for a run. Could be a chance for a good blast round and a spot of lunch aftrewards in the Waterloo Arms!
Planning on going out from Lymington on Sunday 31st October - high tide is around mid-day. Weather depending and also a possibility of a filming company doing an article on 3C from Portsmouth (date unknown) which would have to come first.
We will probably have our RIB there as well with photographer.

we will meet you there
C13
I will keep an eye on the weather reports and put some arrangements up later in the week.
Look forward to getting on the water!
Adam
Are we still looking to meet at lymington, because i will have to re-fuel somewhere, as i will be coming from northney marina.
Lymington works well for us - as the slipway is good with pontoons available. Also this time of year it is nice and quiet and there should be space in the car park as well.
Adam
might come by road then, and then take the boat to ocean racing on the way back to have the engine taken off for the winter
i havent got an engine hoist and i havent got the room to store it,plus it doesnt cost must to take it off and im having some work done to the bushes, plus the engine will be kept inside a heated workshop all winter, ready to be bolted on in the spring
are we still going for sunday
Yes - looks good for Sunday - will put some more details up tomorrow.
Aiming to get to Lymington around 11:00 ish

God it sounds like you knobbers is gon to have a right laugh on Sunday with your boats and the weather!! LUCKY SODS!!
We can not turn because when we span out at Windermere we fecked the electrics up so not much is working and the trailer is dead on the floor and we need to change gearboxes. To much to do for Sunday.
Let us know how it goes and get some pics on soon!!

hi guys,i think i will come by road now as it will be alot quicker.is there somewhere i can refuel at lymington as its been years since i was last there
Theres actually a good new petrol station as you come into Lymington from Brockenhurst direction. A BP station with good access that does unleaded and their version of super-unleaded.
what a knob, sorry guys i meant by sea...i must stop thinking and typing at the same time................so how much is matty yorke super unleaded per litre.................i may be able to get hold of some windermere super super unleaded but i dont think i have got time to pick it up
ah ok . how many ltrs do each hold

Hi

I think their site is www.yachthaven.com and go to lymington.
go up the river and its on the left.
regards john
cheers for that ,but if matt is willing to get some for me it will be alot cheaper and it will be super unleaded, just as long as he gets a receipt:laugh:
Aaaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhh. :flame:

A receipt!!! Cash only!. :D
Anyway, isn't it easier just to stop on the way and fill the boat up at the BP station Adam mentioned? if i go by sea im looking at an hours run from northney, and some fun, rather than at least an hour in the car,ill leave northney full of fuel, and wil prob need 60 litres or so to fill up again when we get to lymington, and depending on where we go for lunch etc, some more to get back
Not sure matt,
probably go out tomorrow cos im getting another motorbike delivered on sunday.
sounds good to me,thanks mate

Don't apologise to that nobba!...he has a foul mouth!
Looks like you had a good day, you were certainly lucky with the weather this afternoon.
I went out yesterday, hardly any wind and the sea was very calm. Went over to cowes, then down to fishbourne, across to portsmouth and then up to the fuel berth at hamble and then home. Great day, we were surprised at how warm the sun was.
I must admit i was thinking of you lot today knowing SB was on her berth with a full tank of fuel.
Anyway, next job is to change the prop cos she is not performing well. I reckon shes experiencing 35% slip according to my calculations. Also suffering from vibration. The prop on the boat was repaired and obviously not very well judging by her performance. Boat behaved very well yesterday with no misfires from the engine all afternoon. Previous misfiring was traced to shit in the Gauze filter at the entrance to the carburetter, but its all sorted now thanks to Marine Power.
Any more pictures then matt?
