What a shame Ben Mazur is going home....One of racings unsung heroes in many years.
I understand that Team Noisy may be offering him a ticket to come back for Cowes..if Cowes happens!!!
Lets all wish him well on his return Stateside.
UKOBA will miss him for sure.
Bye Ben

Yes, it's a shame indeed, hopefully he'll stay in touch via Boatmad.com, and make the trip back for our beloved Cowes event.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought “uh oh, who died”. Was very relieved to know it was only me - er I mean referring to our impending departure from Old Blighty.

Thanks HIM and everyone else for your kind words. I also can’t thank Alan Goodwin enough for affording me the opportunity to throttle the boat that got me interested in powerboat racing in the first place.

Anyways, we’ll be hanging around here for another 5 or 6 months I reckon before we get our house sold. If anyone’s looking for a new place, here’s ours and its available at a bargain basement price.

That looks lovely! do you have much space? (as in Garden)

Ben

About 2/5 acre. It's the gatehouse to an old country estate. The entire place is about 150 acres.

Looks really cool, I love unusual places.

What sort of value does it have (PM me if you prefer)

The value is no secret [http://www.mansellmctaggart.co.uk/particulars/cf/CF003093.html[/URL]

The property certainly is unusual. We have inscriptions on the wall outside the house and in our front hallway from the Canadian troops billitted here during the second world war. We still find munitions on occasion.

The main house has its own story to tell. I love history and archaeology and we have loads of it here but I'll PM you about that as it has absolutely nothing to do with boats and I'd rather not bore the rest of the world.

The main house.

WOW! that's cool.

so WTF is the main joint worth then!

Perhaps not as much as you might think. Many of its 144 rooms are derelict.

But it does make a great film set as Hammer Studios discovered in the 70s

'The Legend of Hell House'

I may appear to be a potbellied, balding, middle-aged, half-wit has-been, but on issues relating to powerboating, I am the all-knowing, merciless God of your universe.

OK?
