I am excited to see them, in the meantime one picture from me driving north in blizzard, the typical Icelandic Easter weather, fairly nice visability on the way north but almost zero visability on the way back.

Looks like you had a good time especially "threading the Needles - but why has Jackso got his PDA ABD XYZ 123 thingy set on OS datum and not Lat & Long? Or does he use a road atlas to navigate the high seas with :drain:
(He would not be the first :wotzhapni :well: )

That's a funny story you just pm'ed about SC and the kitchen T2.
Remind me to ask him about it when we go for our next outing.

You know what the happiest boat I saw today wasn't the gynormous gin palace or anything but a worn out little fisher belting out of Pompey driven by a young lad with his girlfriend on board. Happy as sandboys they looked. Everyone's boat is their pride & joy...

OK I'm impressed now JW as the work is making good progress.
We will be up to visit eventually you know!!!

You lot are getting clever with the editing so I'm having to read backwards...not easy while clutching a glass of merlot...

I see, well no, BM is not going "commercial" in any way, nor will there be any charges for membership of any sort, it's a very small site, and trying to commercialise it in any way would not suit it, i'm sure....besides, 100 paying members would hardly pay off the national debt, would it :lol:lol: (well 99 members, you & JW would get 50% discount as pensioners lol)

As an ex hardboat racer I love BM and I love the humour as well and that we can actually play around making fool of ourselves and still stand upright and watch each other faces afterwords when we meet face to face, but as I have raced RIB couple of times and therefore love all boats that is fast have no pacion for sail or rowing boats makes me booring. I like RN as serious talks for ribsters although there are couple of persons who should leave attending the side and I am glad he is not on here. So I blame you for taking it off course Mr. 2.
Anyone lookin at my route from Yarmouth to Pompey can see I'm quite a focussed person:no: well I try to miss the buoys & headlands, look right AND left at Cowes and keep out of the way of the big ships!!!!!(Re: speed...Zeb's a 5m and it was a little choppy...not a lot but there was the odd one... :) )

I shan't tell ye agin!

The next step is the firm but fair practice of female circumcision, a punishment recommended by many African countries I believe.

Dear Boss,

Will explain all edits by pm....they were my fault in the first place ...

But female circumcision is a rite of passage (Iknow, I know...don't) and not seen as a punishment well by the peeps I used to know anyhow...

Now I was getting Willow all calm & used to the idea of a gentle cruise again after a previous traumatic experience...and now you've got every laydee reading this on a knife edge again (I know...LEAVE IT:laugh: )

Thanks for springing to my defence Willow. If you need something more effective for the job I know where you can lay your hands on a nice propellor...

It's just lying around on someone's coffee table and I'd say it could really cut it as they say....

No cavitation either...will grip and slice through anything in its way.

I'm talking about our BOAT TRIP BTW:D :lol:lol: :bolt:

Because that's what this thread was all about...BOAT TRIPS!!!

BELIEVE IT OR NOT:well:  :seaman:

OH AND...All edits here BTW carried out with the permission of the Boss and only involved the removal of terrible swearwords & suchlike to which you gentle peeps need never be exposed...

All were OK'ed by the Boss ... (PM - Wise)

(Well- Behaved Missus)

& I've just checked the thread again (Bogib's copped 2 insults not intended for him at all...good comic timing B.!!!)...and you need 'panodil' just to get thro' it all....

I'm slightly confused about what you mean though K. Charging has been discussed, but nothing's in place yet. So what's changed?

I don't have a problem with one-off commercial posts (so long as they are relevant and conceivably useful), but if companies are using the forums to spam people then I need to do something about it. Perhaps we're going to need some sort of formal terms and conditions.

As a general principle any sort of trade membership will be to recognise the benefits that the forums bring to the company, not to buy the right to abuse the forums. You'll have noticed that I can be a bit protective about RIBnet at times (!) and I want to make sure that I get it right so any comments and suggestions are always welcome -- even though I may end up ignoring them ;)

Onwards and sideways . . .

I reckon it's easier to use, and at least as fast as version 2 if not faster!

If youv'e got any particular issues let me know and I'll see what can be done. One of the great strengths of V3 is its flexibility . . .

Wasn't a suggestion for action just a fear about future ethos...have explained what you missed (in edits!!!) in a pm.

Like it when peeps declare vested interests ; it's always helpful to know where people are coming from.

Nope. I've learned it but I just find it fiddly. Difficult to quantify. I'll pay attention and let you know.
One irritation is the popup which contains the content of the first post. As soon as your cursor is on the list it pops up and covers the ones below so you can't read the topic without shifting the mouse off screen.
It's confusing identifying the poster and postee. If one pays particular attention it can be sussed easily but it's just, er...fiddly. And small.

Nope. Using a dialup, the pages take ages. I often click twice incase the mouse has failed to respond. Then, eventually, I find I'm two pages back. :(

I've got to admit that it's something that I don't find especially useful and I have the suspicion that it's a feature put in by some tchy type because it's cool! On th eother hand, several people have singled it out as something they like. I can't see an easy way of making it user selectable, but I'll put it on the "to think about" list! It's confusing identifying the poster and postee. Not sure about this. Do you mean in the subject list where it used to have a separate colun for thread starter? Or something else . . . ?Using a dialup, the pages take ages. Let me know whether or not it seems to make any difference.
