Ive had a bit of water coming in from the Bow rails. The thing is, it hasnt come through the head lining but you can feel it squishing about between the headlinig and the top deck!:speechles

Jon
02-03-2005, 03:09 PM
Nah, its not that bad Jon.

I just noticed that the headlining was damp at the front of the cabin on one side, an area about the size of my fist. It looks like the rain has been getting in through the bow rail fittings on the Port side (Nautical term there) and running forwards to find the lowest level. I dont expect the total amount of water there would half fill a tea cup. :lol:lol:

Yes the whole boat is original with 175 hours on the meter.

She was originally bought new by the owner of a Holiday Company and was kept in a boat house on Lake Windermere. She was subsequently owned by another person and also kept on Windermere until last June when i bought her and put her in the salty stuff.

The funny thing is that when i went to see her the first time, a certain "Soap Star" was going through the process of buying her but then had to pull out because they were refused Finance.

With a disheartened Vendor i was able to slip in with a cash offer to save the day and bag myself a bargain in the process.

Well the thing is, i dont know his name cos im not a soap fan but he is on Coronation Street. I might be wrong but i think he plays the son of the irish geezer. Assuming the irish geezer is still in it of course.

Two months after i bought it i saw a program about pleasure boating on the TV and he was in it explaining how he likes water skiing and messing about on the lakes. I wasnt impressed with the boat he was in though.

OK, who can do Sat 16th April?

I reckon we all just pile into the Waterfront bar @ Shamrock Quay, Southampton, where we can order some nosebag, and get a few bevvies, and maybe do a bit of bollockplopping (do a word search if you're confused)

so who's up for it?

if you don't get any joy with a word search, try this:

Assuming it's still at the Waterfront Bar at Shamrock Quay, have a look here. (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=443500&Y=112500&width=500&height=300&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=GB&addr1=&addr2=william+street&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=0&scale=10000&multimap.x=270&multimap.y=144) Shamrock Quay is down William Street on the right hand side as you drive down from Millbank Street. You'll see it written in large metal letters on a brick wall. Drive in and go past Shamrock Chandlery and it's on your left.

We'll probably get there about 7ish? (Earlier if it's cold and/or wet!)

Like the old man in the Monty Python film says, "I feel Happy".

This is a picture of the Solent taken at 7.30am this morning.

The sea is calm and the mist will burn off by about 10.30 leaving an excellent day for boating. Hoorah!

Jon Fuller

Well we had a scream at the Waterfront bar last night, somewhere approaching midnight, the oul fogies Me & the Mrs) crept off to their boat for some much needed beauty sleep, while all the (foolish) nobbers pissed off to the Casino untill 3am! still, going by the state of them this morning (well only just morning!) it was all worth it.

Had a good tear up and down yesterday and today in the boat, so twoz a generally pleasant weekend.
