painting lower unit [Archive]

i,m sure this has been disscussed before but i can,t find it. whats a good way to paint a outboard gearbox..the paints been sodium blasted off and this has left a good bare metal finish. i was thinking etch primer it. them spray with tempo,s chromate primer.and the a couple off coats off phantom black .with various sanding in between.

I just make sure mines well sanded down then etch primer it and paint it! None of mine has ever come off! I paint mine with 2 pack paint! Its what we use in the bodyshop on cars! never had a problem yet!

that is the correct way it will last for ages
