Don shead

Hi all, i am looking to contact the owner of miss enfield 2, a 1970 don shead race boat.
It was owned by my late father and a friend in 1986/87 and raced in the c-t-c classic as LPW.
Any info greatly recieved.

The last time I saw the boat it was on a trailer and without engines - sat in a farm type yard near Bashley in Hampshire. I guess that must be about three years ago though! Prior to that it had been at berthon boatyard in Lymington.

Where about in Bashley Adam i live down the road and could have a look this eve.

Cannot remember the road name so...

heading down through Bashley, over cattle grids, Rising Sun on Right hand side. Road bears round to the left. About 500 yards on right hand side there is a turning into houses in the forest. Go down there and just as the road turns to the left there is a yard on the right hand side - and thats where it was!

Very very late for work oops!
Ok i found the farm yard up a rough track. Ive not been up a track like that for years, last time was with a girlfriend and i was'nt looking for boats......
The farm is owned by Wooton Heath Estate and the yard was rented out to a company who worked on boats. The estate has just been sold to a Mark Adams. I managed to find a couple of builders who were working on the road and they said that the boats were removed from the yard over the last couple of days!!!

Just one thing Adam...... What were you doing up there?

Sorry i didnt find it, missed by a day or two i think.

His name is John Walker. I think the company was Waynefleet or something along those lines.
I do hope i can get to see the boat again. It was fantastic.

it was 2003 event when john walker was organizing it,his words to me were,there is no basic race this year because we have not got the room for you,and there would be to many boats at the start and it would be dangerous,im sure there wernt any 2ltr boats either. i went to the event as a spectator and it was the quietest i can remember in the 25yrs or so previous years of going,there wasnt even a beer tent that had any beer. i dont know what happened behind closed doors but it was said that the bprc wanted the event for them selves a bit of a gentlemans club for the elite,if you can stump up 10 grand as joining fee, your welcome to it,but for once the rya did get involed and he stood down,there is prob alot more details than i have written but thats the basic to it

In 2003 the 2 Litre boats (4 of us) were at the World Champs in Norway - trust the UIM and the RYA not to talk to each other!

Well i left a message on monday but no reply. i will try again tomorrow.
Hope i can find the whereabouts of the boat. im seeing my fathers old friend whom was the driver in the racing days.
