I'm going to be up there, and weigh 8 stone!

How the bloody hell do you manage that, clean living I'm sure.
Just got off the scales at 18 stone. BIDGAF:sick:
Of all things I thought could happen, turning into a movable balast tank wasn't one of them

Ms V. Tricky weighs in at 40kg, and has a dunk test & national licence.
So any other canopy boats... This will save some weight.
For racing I have to *ADD* 35 kilograms to get to the class minimum weight!

Annual records attempts, as Windemere is a no go thoughts have turned to Coniston as there is no blanket speed restriction as windemere.
Nearly all classes both offshore & inshore have a go.

Yeh very pleased with it - everyone always says immaculate in their ads but as you say it really is - I think its fairly unique and only done 112 hours from new so only just run in ! Planning to do Coniston

Is there a race at Coniston as there was on last day of Windermere week ?
From what I understand only boats that are eligable for world or national records are permitted to run. No performance certificates this year. It has something to do with the local bye laws and there isnt any endurance racing this year as only single boats are permitted to run at one time.

Thats what I heard too. Only boats going for an official record can run - therefore they've got to fit into a class measurement.

V69 will be there.
With thanks to James Sydenham, Matt and others, we are seeing speeds that lead me to believe we can relieve Ricky Hill of his National Record...

Ive been told that the super clubman class is running this year, Aren't most boats eligable in this class?
Maybe someone could post the Coniston details here.
I might be old fashioned, but it can’t be too hard to put up a Coniston Speed Record Week website with details including eligibility, functions, accommodation etc.
I am sure there are lots of people behind the scenes working hard to “get the week off the ground “ but they need to know without the using the net and forums such as this, their event will not be as well supported.
If the organisers are not PC literate they could always ask JF to put up a Coniston thread, with all details.
When the Windermere Week was run, there was a prize giving on Friday night.
Hopefully, no change at Coniston.
How good would it be if the northern Boatmad boys were invited too?
There are many posts on this forum where power boating enthusiasts go to a race and feel isolated from racers, well surely a week of speed trials in the Lakes is the perfect opportunity for racers, and wannabe racers to have a chat and a glass ?
