I noted some mention of Sea start in a previous thread.
which prompted a rare train of hought in me which went like this.
How many of us are members
How many want to be
would there be any value in negotiating a block booking/Boatmad or Ribnet Club membership

im a member, broke down last year and the boat was a no go. realised the cost involved in getting her home even from just across in yarmouth yet to mention the trouble would have been far greater than the £130 odd quid membership.
good service 100% required

Have been a member for 4 years, had 4 call outs in that time,
my friend and brother are members as well,
my brother joined in April and has already had 4 call outs for battery and electric problems!!!
we get 4 free boat show tickets for referals !! so its work out a bargain for me!!
I think they provide peace of mind and are value for money..

Well frankly I think that's ridiculous! Isn't it time he had it fixed properly, rather than venturing out relying on what is supposed to be a 'safety net' for his everyday boating, with that approach, he's sure to come seriously unstuck at some time!

If the boat electrician and the engineer knew what the hell they were doing the times they checked, fixed and then re fixed I suppose he wouldnt of had any problems!!!
Luckily all incidents have occured whilst at cobbs quay marina and not out on the sea and as sea start have a boat in cobbs wasnt too difficult for them.
