Hi All

Just sold my Sea Ray 27ft cruiser and am looking for info on the Formula 311 SR-I and Portofino 31. My last boat was really bad in the rough chop even with a 19 degree dead rise which basically put the family off using the boat much so really want a boat which can handle the chop and some power hence my choice.

BTW Is a poker run a rally?

Hi Matt

Nice site and pictures see you have the same engines I had in mine except mine was a single. See by your bio you are in Farnborough? Is that Farnborough Hants? Where do you keep your boat?

Thats my plan for my next boat, kept in Chichester what a pain to get to, thinking of leaving next one dry at Drivers Wharf 9 months in the water each season took a hell of a toll on the outdrive and and underwater gear and anti fouling a pain I can do without.

This poor fkker was probably overcome by the smell of Drivers Wharf toilets! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/3597294.stm

went out on a sunseeker portifino the othe month twin 200 diesels, was awfull !! far too slow/underpowered and didnt handle well....

the tomahawk 37 seems to get all the plaudits, for hull design/strength and speed...

but like Matt I agree the formulas are (like cigarettes) one of the best looking boats around..... there are plenty of others US boats, but Formula seem to have a good name over here for re-sale...

you get a smooth ride but loose a lot of your cabin/cockpit space etc...... always a trade off unless you got serious $$$

www.formulaboats.com

It appears they don't build the 311 SR1 any more, but I know lots of guys with those older Formulas and they swear by them. Not the fastest boats, but pretty much bulletproof.

Have you a line on one there? There are 9 pages of Fomulas for sale on www.boattraderonline.com Do you have a British version of that site?
