Depends on the perspective you want to look at it from - but just reminded me of the analogy you gave at cowes.

You reckoned the ribnobba's crashing into your boat would be pissed if someone crashed into their lambo, but they just don't get why you don't want people crashing into your boat.

Ah yes, I think what I actualy said was, if they had a fancy lambo, or whatever, they wouldn't even want you touching the car, for fear of leaving fingerprints on it, but my boat, even though of similar value, doesn't matter a shit to em, and they don't get it.

Mind you, it aint just ribnobbas!

I think RibNobbas's bump your boat because they can, because they've got squashy rubber tubes that don't get damaged by a 'bump'. That's an advantage & they want to make you aware of that.

Seems that way in my experience anyway. They're always excessively casual about it, just chatting away whilst their rubber tube squeals up & down the side of your boat. You can tell they're just dying for you to mention it, so that they can go "Oh, hadn't thought. Sorry; doesn't really matter if you've got a rib". I just put my boot on their tube and shove it away, then carry on chatting.

Or maybe I read too much into these things.

Well, I have to say that nothing pisses me off more than when your boat is moored parallel to others and some f*ckwit, who has to climb over your boat to get to the pontoon or back to their boat, treads all over the upholstery! Particularly if you have just had your back seat nicely re-upholstered. No F*cking respect.

Oh and they always seem to be Rib owners - perhaps its cos they dont tend to have nice upholstery of their own! - just a shitty dirty plastic floor and some shoddy Jocky type seat!

I don't want to be contravercial, but you could add to that wee list, an 18" Bowie Knife, a chip on both shoulders, and a large portion of small man syndrome just for good measure.

Is that speaking from a recent personal experince then Jon

I could handle the Napolen complex - but dont much like the sounds of the 18" blade!
