Mad world...#1

I was droppin hubby off in the Warsash area this morning and we popped down to the riverside near the Harbourmaster's Tower.

Someone was dropping a RIB in so we stayed to learn some stuff. gArfie I think you would have liked this one. The most casual lad I ever saw backed his Escort down the slip into the water (must've been dad's car) & tried to rock the boat off the trailer...he still looked calm & collected.
Then he took the trailer off the hitch and pushed the whole lot into the water. Trailer & boat (still with its cover tied on) floated gently away into the river. He stood and looked and then drove his car up the slip. He then CHANGED HIS CLOTHES!!!
Boat had floated off trailer at this stage and went bobbing merrily on the incoming tide towards the H'master's Pontoon (lotsa boats there...)
Meanwhile our friend waded in after the trailer. He tied on the trailer and drove it up the slip. He got out casually and undid the rope. He hitched on the trailer. He then rolled the rope carefully and WASHED IT SEVERAL TIMES...looking up slowly once or twice at the RIB (still fully covered ) which had luckily missed the boats on the pontoon and was now bobbing under the walkway.
He put the rope in the car. He then drove car and trailer off in the direction of the public car park (well out of sight of his boat)
A while later he returned, walking , then running towards another pontoon; not realising that the wind had taken over and his boat was now bobbing back towards the sea. Its hull finally hit something and it came to rest midway between the pontoon and the slip. HE TOOK OUT HIS MOBILE AND PHONED A FRIEND

He still looked quite cool as he stared at his boat marooned and inaccessible with the covers on. His friend arrived in another car and they began to discuss what to do. And then we left.

Wotta let down from a fellow ribsta!!!And we've had a few mares on that slip and were hoping to pick up a few tips!!!!

It was just getting too awful for words...and another man came along & gave him waders so we reckoned they'd be OK...

I've never seen anyone look less worried.

Thing is the prop was heading for boats at one stage and he was washing the rope!!!!

Absolutely amazing

Actually I had a two hour drenching, each way, last week while crossing the channel in a beam sea so a wee house would have been good.

Seems to me that with at least one member using "raggie-speak" , perhaps we should have a BM Sailing Day on a raggie boat.

OK OK I'll get back in me box
