The turbine was Wrens first unit to give around 12lb of statick trust, couple together with a fac sistem, that was a pain in the bum to set the peramiters correctly. All in all,it took many many hours to build, with plans obtained from the late Ken Norris, and a few trips up to Newcastle where Bluebird is now housed.
It was a pain also for obvioue reasions, to get a first hand Idea of what the front end looked like,to get the 1/6th detailing as accurate as possible, that would be convincing even to the most harden Bluebird Freeks wouldn't notice, believe me, I no them all!, and with a price tag that wouldn't give you much change from a new Mercury xs 300.
There were another 3 of these made with turbine's...one of them is mine.
Ill try and down load some stuff from the bluebird modeller site, from when Gina / Marshall / myself and all the other freeks had them all up at Coniston, where we also rent pier cottage/Donalds old headquarter's, a couple of years ago.
Cheers Graham.
