Very, very cool.
I hope Marshall didnt sink it this time John?,though its an impresive piece of kit that we fixed many a time three years back when myself, and a very talented model maker by the name of Adrian Gosling, scratched our heads over longer than we had nails to do so.

The turbine was Wrens first unit to give around 12lb of statick trust, couple together with a fac sistem, that was a pain in the bum to set the peramiters correctly. All in all,it took many many hours to build, with plans obtained from the late Ken Norris, and a few trips up to Newcastle where Bluebird is now housed.

It was a pain also for obvioue reasions, to get a first hand Idea of what the front end looked like,to get the 1/6th detailing as accurate as possible, that would be convincing even to the most harden Bluebird Freeks wouldn't notice, believe me, I no them all!, and with a price tag that wouldn't give you much change from a new Mercury xs 300.

There were another 3 of these made with turbine's...one of them is mine.

Ill try and down load some stuff from the bluebird modeller site, from when Gina / Marshall / myself and all the other freeks had them all up at Coniston, where we also rent pier cottage/Donalds old headquarter's, a couple of years ago.

Cheers Graham.

Na, he didn't run it on the water.

Apparently the underwater details are quite modified now, in order to get to plane, without attempting a nose dive getting there.

The motor runs absolute perfectly, I was struck by how well it would idle, then rev freely and cleanly right up to max power. really cool.
