Navman chartplotter

Got a navman chartplotter in the boat but does any body know if you can get the normal road charts for them so you can use it in the car?

If i was a "Woman" i would have put my last post down to a "Blonde" moment ! :frown: :o

It's obvious you would have checked out that option before posting

The problems are :

1: finding a "reader/writer" for the "C-Map" cartridges ..... not easy ( but possible )

2: breaking the protection on them ... easier !

3: The C-map carts have very little memory, (32mb i believe)... and "street maps" are rather large , hence you would have a very small area coverage per cartridge.

4: you would need a lot of old ( but still expensive) carts to load with your "street maps"

5: for the price of a couple of C-map's you could have a dedicated car version

Why bother ?

I was speaking to a guy from Navman on the weekend and he was telling me that they have no plans to make the marine gps's land useful.
