Hard Drive recovery is my speciality

if your pc is totally dead it's more than likley to be PSU / Motherboard in which case your data should be safe and would be readable in another pc although ......

if you were running XP and had a password on your username your documents folder may appear to be empty ( your data is still there just not accesible ) you would then need to reset folder permissions with software such as "winternals ERD commander" (bootable cd)

if you have been very unfortunate and the drive is not visable as a slave and/or is making strange noises/not spinning etc i can still recover the data for you

PS dont worry about the "porn" 99.999% of the drives that i repair/recover have plenty
