According to todays regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 60's 70's & early 80'sprobably shouldnt have survived because.........
Our baby cots were covered in brightly coloured lead based paintwhich we promptly chewed and licked!
No childproof lids on medicine bottles!
When we rode our bikes we wore no helmets, just flip flops and flourecsent clickclacks on our wheels!(spokey dokeys)
As children we would ride in motor cars with no seatbelts or airbags........
We ate chips, bread and butter pudding and drank fizzy pop with sugar in butwe were never overweightbecause we were always out playing.
We shared one drink with 4 friends and nobody actually died from this!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back before dark. No one was able to reach us and no one minded.......
We did not have playstations or xboxes, no video games at all. no 99channels on tv, no vcr movies, no surround sound no mobile phone, no pc's, no internet chat rooms, No Boatmad!!!!! We had friends, we just went outside to find them......
We also, beleive it or not WALKED to school!we didnt relly on Mummy or daddy to drive us round the corner.
We made up games with sticks and tennis balls. we rode bikes in packs of 7 and wore our coats by only our hood!
The idea of our parents bailing us out if we got into trouble was unheard of, they actually sided with the law.
This generation has produced some of the best risk takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever!The past 50 yrs have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom faliure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.
And YOU may be one of them....

This my freinds , is surprisingly frightening..........and it might put a smile on your face:: The majority of sttudents in universities today were born in 1983......they are called youth.
They have never heard of we are the world, we are the children, and the uptownn girl they know of is by westlife! not billy joel......
They have never heard of rick astley, bananarama, Nena or Belinda carlisle.
For them there has only been one Germany and one vietnam.
Aids has existed since they were born.
CD's have existed since they were born.
Micheal Jackson has always been white.
To them John Travolta has always been round in shape and they cant imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance.
They beleive that Charlies Angels and mission impossible were films brought out last year.....
They can never imagine life before computers...
They'll never have pretended to be the A team or Airwolf, Red hand gang or the famous five.
They'll never have applied to go on Jim 'll fix it or Why dont you..
They cant comprehend having to watch a black and white television, let alone without a remote control!!!!
And they will never understand how we could leave the house without a mobile phone.
NOW LETS CHECK IF YOU ARE GETTING OLD(Pay attention JF!!

1/ You understand all the above and smile..........
2/ You need to sleep more, usually till mid afternoon after a night out
3/ Your friends are getting married / already married.
4/ When you see teenagers with mobile phones you shake your head.
5/ You remembeer watching dirty den in eastenders the first time round...
Having read all this you are probably reminising over the good old days, thinking about old friends and old stories you could tell to some of your friends because you think they will smile too........
So Yes your getting older!
