Yeah cus if he suffers from hayfever then we might have snot or dirty used tissues glassed into our boats
and if he took a holiday then mine and JBd's P20's might have been built by his workers
but if he wernt on holiday then he may have built mine all by himself cus his workers might have been on holiday
Wonder if he still has a diary from that year

I'm sure steve would never lower himself to glass snot or dirty tissues into one of his boats though.
Personally I find a bit of snot makes for a more bullet proof
laminate - bit like kevlar.

This stems from an MSN conversation between myself, Ross (Puppiesballs) and Burty about the age of our respective boats. This conversation went slightly off track and we ended up slagging off each others hulls regarding when, how and who would have made them and how outside factors governed by the time of year and current economical climate etc could have compromised there construction. For example Ross's boat was built in 1994 the height of the recession and so its likely that Phantom would not have had as much money to spend on good quality resin and glass as they would in the late 80's when there was loads of money floating (no pun intended) about. Plus it may have been made around xmas so Steve may have had his mind on Santy Claus and all the pressies he was going to get and not on building quality boats. My boat was made in July so Steve may have been on holiday and not there to supervise its contruction. Burty's was made at easter and in the height of hayfever season. Steve could have dropped some easter egg in the resin bucket and maybe sneazed in it too (more than once). Both chocolate and snot are not as strong as polyester resin!!! You get the idea, it was all just a bit of fun

During the build of my 28, I developed a bit of a reputation with Steve for poping down the local fish n chip shop a bit too often. I even kept my own bottle of Ketchup in the company fridge!
About the time it was being built, Steve invested in his first PC (Fisher Price, My first computer ) Including a scanner. Whilst learning to use it, he took great pleasure in getting a business card from the chip shop (just a few paces from Phantom), scanning it, and creating a spoof special offer "Free Fish Friday", or summat (try saying it fast) I don't think that many people got to see Steves sense of humour (a serious chap) but it was very much there, and rather dry. I'll see if I can find the A4 sheet. I also got a text message from him when he first discovered mobile phones: "I've just been printing envelopes on my H.P., is paper jam best with brown bread or white?"
I'll look for the spoof...
