RYA/ UIM Vs WPPA

It's talked about in various threads
It doesn't mean Jack other than an expression of an individuals Opinion, It's not a "I'm going to change the world" Thing
Think about it then cast a vote.
Bit of Fun
Given a clear sheet who would you prefer to Run UK Racing

The WPPA stands for The World Professional Powerboat Association ie people or crews that earn their living from powerboat racing. Their intention was to run under the UIM as another organisation affiliated to the UIM representing professional powerboat teams across the globe.

All the talk on Boatmad regarding the WPPA is misinformed. They have no intention of replacing the UIM or the RYA or any other national organisation. They are not interested in grass roots racing.

WPPA are in the process of negotiating with the UIM to be accepted.

Gary.

Gary,
Tiz only a bit of fun expressing an opinion. If anybody wants to take notice of the feedback then groovy if not thats groovy too.
What could be taken from it as a +VE is the way people feel about the way things are currently run.

Gary, the way the RYA treats racing members at the moment it will not be long before someone else steps in and becomes the national authority running with a mandate from the racers. As the National Authority for Uk national racing what, other than supply 3rd party insurance, have committes make stupid rules, jaunt around the world on freebies, and cost us a shed load of money, do?

If somebody re-writes the rules can we get rid of the one that makes you dress like a flame proof power ranger.

Guess I've spent too much time in the water.
Bloody orible things when wet cold too.
I think you look quite dapper, me with my belly look more like a staypuff marsh mellow

Afterthought people always go back to the 3rd party insurance

When was the last recorded payout to a 3rd party & how much ?

I want to do away with the rule on helmets for canopied boats. We already have a big helmet, we should be able to wear light 'head protectors' like bicycle helmets inside the canopies, especially as we are strapped into the seats, with a head bobbing around like a churchill dog......

( as someone brought up rule changes... )

There have been a few ''recent'' insurance payouts. Think the last was probaly when the pro v hit the yacht in the solent. In recent memory was Richard White going through the fishing boat at Southend. My problem with the insurance is that it states the max payout is £5m, so why do we have to have £10m cover in the boat?

The Insurance premium is a fair proportion of RYA costs. But somwhat less than salaries, operations and establishment!

Well RYA, Johnny & Gary

72% wanna jump ship

well out of the small number that voted that is

How many offshore licence holders this year assume a 20% reduction on the above and I cant for the life of me see how the RYA can have a racing department. let alone an infastructure
