Stainless fire surround....

I forget who, but someone on Boatmad can 'do' stuff with stainless steel.

I want a fire surround for the fireplace I am rebuilding. It will be stainless, about 4mm thick about 4 foot by 2'6" with a 3' by 1'8" cutout in the middle. It will need 6 'pegs' to embed it into the wall, and would be brushed stainless finish..

I can do that no probs. When you say pegs do you mean like a weld stud?
Cheers
Dan

I am not sure what I mean!

I want to drill holes in the wall, fill the holes with a two part compound, and insert the 'frame' of the fire. The two part sets, and the frame is in place.

I will take a picture tonight, and post it, along with the concept.

No probs, studded bar would work fine with chem fixing like you said. If its strong enough to hold balustrade fixings in it would be just fine for your surround
