The Enviroment

Well with all the topical bullsh*te of today I carried out a little excercise.
Not kept full fuel logs since I started flying only the last 10 years are really accurate. But......
Average uplift was 28,000 lts for 15 days a month thas 420,000 lts month average multiply that by 12 months = 5,040000 lts a year so over the 10 years its 50.4 million lts. now multiply that by the number of heavy jets in the world flying today.....
Cars & boats aint the problem............
Thats for a medium catagory, 747 will be more 737 slightly less

Most emlightening staistic that I heard today was this:

'If the UK ceased, with immediate effect, ALL emmissions, ie: no power generation, no factories, no vehicles on the road, etc. The shortfall would me made up by China alone within two years'

The developing world is the problem. Personally, I reckon that cheap flights will become a thing of the past and that people will start aking their holidays abroad by boat again The travel will be part of the holiday, like it was years ago in the days of the huge ocean liners.
Business types will video-conference rather than flying out to Europe for a few hours, and that we'll see more nuclear power stations because, let's face facts, there are no viable alternatives. Yeah, there's solar panels, wind farms, and those little windmills you nail on the side of your house that are propelled by the lentil-fuelled farts of the hippies who live there, but none of these can add up to the kind of grunt you can get out of an itsy bitsy chunk of Plutonium.

All this 'The worlds going to hell in 5yrs time unless we act now!' shite was the same crap they were talking over 5yrs ago when they said the polar ice caps are melting and we'll all be under water in 5yrs time. Well that didnt happen.

I'm rather enjoying the fact that winter is not going to happen...but spoken to a lot of people and they seem to like 'crisp' weather. Gross. Who enjoys wind/rain and 14 layers of clothing!?

I love the British Winter and the seasons of the year.

The Canadien Rockies in winter are ace too.

But there is no doubt that the Worlds climate is changing and whilst it may not effect us in our lifetime, we will surely be remembered as the generation that caused the change.

Think of your children, your childrens children . . . . . .

Now, lets concentrate on being remembered well in style!!!

Exactky Rob.

We heard all this bollocks five years ago and we're still here.

Remember the 'Millenium Bug' too? What a load of old pony that turned out to be!!

Think of my children? I don't have any mate. I'm the last of the line!

Won't the UAE be pretty well underwater if sea levels rise dude? Better hope the 'Merkins have got all the oil out by then, eh?

Isnt it funny how the Americans are generally perceived to be the only Nation in the World that have the ability to extract, process and refine crude oil?
