Triumph Thruxton

What's the verdict on em? Seems to get mixed reviews depending on the review perspective.

I think it's a cool looking bike & if you like the whole retro thing got to be worth considering. I tried one & liked it very much - there is a certain charm to it & you can get your biking kicks without risking your life ala R1 GSXR etc.

I seriously considered buying one until I rode the Street Triple. Thats a real honey & ticks all my boxes, so I ordered one on the spot. The only trouble is the waiting list now extends to September

Thanks! I quite like the black and gold daytona too.
What's the difference between the speed triple and street triple?
Something keeps drawing me back to triumphs. I also want a GT6.

The street triple is based on the Daytona 675 but with a slightly detuned engine and lower spec brakes & suspension. This might sound like it makes it the poor relation but somehow it all gells together really well as a package.

The speed triple looks similar but it iis the bigger brother - different frame 1050cc (i think) engine etc.

Agree with you about the GT6 as well - that's a very good looking car.
