Ultima victory

The Ultima car company claims due to Top gear cold shouldering them to have gone to the track independently to set a new lap record which they claim to have achieved

Spect like a few on here the Ulitima may have been of interest I did start to look around at them many years back when I was thinking of changing the Corvette for one and a guy at the local boat yard claimed to have purchased a shell but think it got no further, I always liked the look of the convertible version

Absolutly stunning car, have admired them for years. Rumor has it that Mc Clarren used them to test the F1 road car engine during development.

Always wanted one until I had a chance to sit in one at B M Motorsport Aylesbury a couple of months back. What put me of one as an every day road car is that because of the high sill and the low roll cage they are very difficult to get in an out, more like climbing through a port hole. Although aging a bit I am medium build and relatively fit and there was no dignity to getting in and out. They really are a road legal race car. Still would like one as a toy though for Sundays, fun days and play days.

Pound for pound there is nothing else road legal to touch them for performance.

They also hold the record for 0-100mph-0 in 9.4 seconds

As for sexiest car ever wish they would make a kit of the Maserati Birdcage

See Yahoo have managed to catch up with the news stating a 1m 9.9sec lap of the Top gear track, I had also read years back when it came out a lot of autocar write ups and I too recall they mentioned a few times that the Ultima was the test Mule for the mechanical goodies that made the McLaren F1

I imagine that 'Top Gear' will argue that it wasn't driven by 'The Stig' & so doesn't count.

I guess 'The Stig' is supposed to remove any driver variables but I think they use whoever's available at the time to be 'Stig', so it's a bit of a moot argument.

Do like the Ultima.
