US gas prices
I'm currently in the Catskill Mountains NY, and the main topic of conversation seems to be the price of Gas (petrol) which is currently $3.49, although we passed a pump ealier today and it was $3.89!!!!! The've been talking on the news of a $6.00 gallon in some areas!!

This is a very worrying development...it is being kept quiet in the British media, we are now at 97.9p a litre on unleaded, 20p dearer than January.

Well it should be a quid but most forecourts can't fit the extra digit on the boards! So 99.9p What a great time to run a taxi company!
The ramifications for the US economy could be dire.

Bugger wished another year of my life away. It's not often the UK has a good deal but they are really gonna f***k this up.
Hope they dont but if they did, I wounder if there will be a swiing back to big petrols as they will work out cheaper to run

When we were in the states about 2 months ago gas was $1.30 a gallon. Imagine if our fuel prices doubled inside 2 months

Last time I was there (March) it was about $2.00/gallon on Long Island so $3.50 would be about a 75% increase.
