Wink Stone National Info

Hi Ladies and Gentleman,

Welcome to the second Stone National 2006, please find the attached information, if there is anything else you want to know please e-mail or phone on of the contact numbers below.
We hope this one will be as successful as the last one and we are looking forward to seeing you all again.

Please co-operate with parking instructions, campers must be parked as tightly as possible on the ground to the left of the road as you come in. I am afraid we have been instructed that no slide-outs or awnings are permitted, sorry. If we are short of space you may be asked to park cars in the Yacht Club car park next door. (Just a few hundred yards away), thank you.

Please help us try to keep the peace with our neighbours by being considerate with noise late at night.
No generators please after 21.00. Thank you.

If you practice on Saturday, please turn right when exiting the moorings (observing the 8 knot speed limit as far as the 8 knot marker Buoys), and head towards the power station. (River police are hot on speeding in the moorings)
Anyone breaking this rule will not race Sunday.

You should ask local advice as to the locations of sand banks etc. You have been warned.
There can be a large number of sailors (no jokes please) using the river, they are not given to changing course, please go round the back of them.

There is an 8-knot speed limit two hundred meters from the low water mark around the entire River Blackwater.

You will be glad to here that some of the roads to Stone have been improved the last few years. As a result the route may not be quite as you remembered it. The following routes are recommended, they may be a little longer in distance, but should be quicker in time.
The petrol stations on the local roads nearer to Stone are not good for larger campers and boats, so get fuel on the main roads on the way. There is a large BP on the A13 which is good for long rigs.

From West or South of London.

Follow the A13 East to the A130.
Turn left onto the A130 at the end of the new section of the A13.
Follow road then take the A132 to South Woodham (1st turn off)
Use near side lane of this turn off; follow sign for “All Other Routes.” (Not Wickford)
Go to roundabout and take the third exit, signed to South Woodham.
Straight over the next two roundabouts, then left at the third following the signs for “Burnham”.
Then a short distance up a hill, then turn left sign posted to Cold Norton.
Follow road through Stow Maries, then Cold Norton, straight over two mini roundabouts, and through Latchingdon, past a Q8 Garage.
At mini roundabout, (by church) turn left towards Bradwell, go through Mayland, then Steeple and after about two miles there is a small sign on the right side of the road towards Stone and St Lawrence Bay. Turn left here, follow the road, Stone is at the end on the Right. Beware of on coming traffic priority signs,!!! The locals are not always friendly.
Take care not to over shoot the turn into the car park on the right.
If you are towing it will be hard to turn or back up.

From North of London.

Come down M11 then M25 then turn left onto the A127.
Follow the A127 to the A130 turn off, turn left onto the A130.
Now follow the directions above from the A130

Our own directional indicators to Stone will be posted from the church at the mini roundabout where you bear left for Bradwell, from late Friday afternoon.
