40" propulsion

I know nothing about model boats... What sort of propulsion, size etc would i need to get a good turn of speed, for tinkering about.... Think Id prefere electric motors if the costs are similar

Electric is far more "acceptable" if you are running them in public areas (parks/boating ponds). IC is definately frowned upon these days in most areas

1.6kg bare hull and deck. Its not for racing, just larking about..... be happy with 20-30mph I suppose. Possibly sea use..

alternative is petrol strimmer engine?? prefere electric but as i understand that better
