Trying to find info on the racing career of these two drivers. Any help would be much appreciated.

The diatribe in `Fastonwater` has been taken from the `Powerboat84-86` series, where I think a typo has been copied off on every edition.i.e. Andy Bullen (son of) started offshore in 1963 when he was 9 yrs old.I think not.

Alf Bullen,as far as I know began Offshore in 1966 in the Class III C Levi `Cinzano`and over the next decade raced in many classes and boats, which would take a fair bit of research to list them all.Alf moved into circuit racing in the latter stages of his career, then his son began to take up circuit racing.
Alf did have a go at the Paris 6 hr in a CIII C offshore boat in 1970 I think, before he went back to the circuit racing in late seventies.

I have not seen any article written about the Bullens,so to piece the full history would need some time spent.Offshore I am aquainted with, but circuit not as much.

Would be fascinated to know how this subject has surfaced?

Have a look on Boatmad gallery the pictures tell a story
Also the videos 66 onwards.
Show quite a few Bullen boats although mostly offshore
I particularly like Wicked Alf
Most of the boats have Alf in the name or Alfie !

I have a vague recollection that it was Alf Bullen who put together a Cosworth engined circuit cat (Velden or Hodges?) complete with Mercruiser leg, in about 1977 or 1978. Would that be right?

Jackie Wilson was the Cosworth man, along with Bill Brown who was also involved with proving the arrangement.

Alf Bullen

We were testing hydroplanes on Lake Hamilton, located between Orlando and Tampa Bay, in preparation of the 1993 world championship, when this guy came into the dock in a large sportsboat - it was Alf Bullen. He had emigrated a few years earlier to run a marine dealership.

Not sure if Alf is still alive, and not seen his son for many years.
