Sorry Nige I haven't been on here in a while.
Had long multi month discussions with Rocky's sons, but they don't want to do a restoration. They are both successful businessmen constantly traveling the world.
Have a new potential buyer that has some high end boats and is looking for something like this for his collection. He is talking about a resto that looks original on the outside but is powered by 700 HP Mercs and number 6 drives.
Sounds like a reliable boat in the end, it should run just over 100 MPH and be the center of attention at all the poker runs.
A lot of interest was generated by the Ocean Reef Vintage Weekend last year that featured planes, cars and boats...mainly classic yachts but for the first time ever, they allowed a little white plastic boat that really drew the crowds.
It was Don Aronow's original race boat from his first company. A Formula 233 with an original 1963 409 engine. The first fiberglass race boat from the first boat company Don founded, the first boat he raced under the name....The Cigarette. Got a lot of good press in Power and Motoryacht magazine.
No deal has closed, if any interest over there, now would be a good time to contact us at HORBA.
