As young guy in Birmingham and going Hydroplane racing was his early interest,a certain Don Shead could well have participated at that circuit.I think he went on to bigger things.

This film is a bit early to include the racing exploits of Don Shead, although he was a member of the Midland Hydroplane Club.

His most successful season racing was in 1958 driving a 350cc Konig powered American-built Swift hull.

The same year Don broke the 350cc outboard speed record on Coniston Water at 54.83 mph.

Yes all of it is on computer, around 1000 pages / 500 photos in 12 volumes, including national and international (circuit and offshore) race results and speed records. After 26 years of research I may possibly start publishing the project next year, but some volumes are still incomplete and I am very reluctant to publish the British Offshore championship category despite the help of Ray Bulman.
