`Fairey In Context`booklet

Another rare book on our sport has now just been published, and for those interested in the Fairey, and Ray Hunt boats it`s a definitive piece of work by Charles Lawrence.
It`s not a book as such more a booklet, with 70 odd pages packed with b & w and colour photos as well as colour line drawings.
Charles advises me that he is happy for anyone to have a copy if they make a contribution of £10 towards printing and postage.Well worth the money for this labour of love.

I find it interesting.
I imagine that the address claww4@me.com is for contacting the author for the type of payment and the dispatch.

Charles Lawrence

Charles is a very keen member of the Fairey Owmer's Club. He has a Swordsman 30, the modern re-incarnation of the Spearfish, having started with a wooden Huntress before that. He is an architect by profession and has done some superb line drawings of the whole Fairey range some or all of which will no doubt be in his publication. That is Charles' email address
I've just ordered my copy and look forward to it with relish. It will be a fascinating read for anyone interested in classic boats.
All the best
Jonathan

"Fairey In Context"

Arrived in the post this morning, only had a quick skim so far but I have to say Charles has done a marvellous job - extremely comprehensive, authoritative together with some interesting stories about the characters who helped form this great company and it's hugely successful products.

For an enthusiast created and home published book it is a triumph, the illustrations are superb.

If classic boats appeal or you want to know a little more about some of the early evolution of the sport it's well worth a read.

Full marks.
