No your right after I finished Roman Sabre it had the same problem so it was tow on the plane too, we made the same hook for both boats.

The 1972 London to Monte Carlo story from Motorboat & Yachting 23rd June...

Would pdf versions be preferable? I've gone for Jpegs as I can edit them more easily and the photos seem to come-out better.

Well I am still alive and I am sure that all the owner's and the old race's are very much alive except Ralph Hilton who had HTS built.

All the Sabre engine boats that I rigged had to be pull up on the plane, until C Kay come up with the Powder Couping and the lock up Torque Converter.

HTS was absolutely my favourite raceboat as a kid.. just a great looking boat.. followed it through the 69 round Britain and all the races including the London to Monte Carlo.. even the site of an HTS lorry would get me in powerboat mode!

Thanks Nitro for those great pics, it's amazuing what's hanging around in peoples lockers

If I am hearing right we might just see HTS out on the water again racing. Now that would be a sight to see and to get the blood pumping. Fingers crossed!

Well is that correct, !!!! I think that all the boats I ever built, rigged and raced are more a part of me, than anybody who ever owned them, would love to see them all race again. Jimmy Brooker

I worked for HTS as a workshop foreman before I rigged the boat and seeing
1500 hundred HTS lorries did nothing for me.

Im not sure my mother ever understood either, why I got so excited at the site of a blue and white lorry trundling past while she was accompanying me to school..

Well,his hobby was diesel engines.Oh, and also fishing I heard.Rumour had it he was going to make a bid for Miss Enfield II many years back,so as to use it as a fishing boat!!!!.but I don`t think filling quilted bottoms is listed as one of his hobbies.

It`s a job knowing what to do for the best here Ian.

Your JPEG`s are better for editing,but you need to print them off to read them.

PDF`s are easier to read on the computer screen,but editing is a problem,and they chew up memory (300dpi will only give circa 2 pages,although 100dpi would give more,but the readability goes down).

If you have more than 6 pages,then 100 dpi is just about a compromise.

All my scans are 300dpi,unless I put them on Boatmad,in which case I reduce them to 100dpi.

You`ll find that scanning pages to do PDF`s will quite often result in the pages ending up out of square,which can be a pain.Even the originals are like it,which only become apparent when magnified up on a PDF.

Try doing newsheets and cobbling that together.Mind you as an ace modelmaker should should have the patience for it.

I've always found them readable if you click on them (to open) then click again to magnify...

If you download them and open with a programme that has a zoom feature (as in Microsoft Picture Manager) just increasing to 50% should do it...
