You can't set up camp at Cowes Green, not this year you can't! We have set our course to run close to you hanging off the cliffs at Anvil Point going and coming back 'cause we need the pics for the future

You had better get some good ones of us just in case there isn't a helicopter filming this year.

In which case you`ll be smack on course, unlike the usual follow my leader routine which is quarter of a mile off.Still,if your leading???, it won`t be a problem.

revenger 25 - renegade

It seems that I may have purchased Renegade from the description that you have given. The boat was apparently left under wraps by a barn. I purchased her from a guy in Poole who purchased her in 2007 with the aim of restoring her. He has had Trio do some work to her but there is still a great deal to do. She had a twin inboard installation and alot of the trim panels have 'JK's 25' scribbled on the back.

So, what can anyone tell me about renegade?

Cheers

Thanks. Looks great. I will see if we can get her back to this condition. She is in a poor state at the moment.

Hey mate, it's even a 350 SCI Verado... The boat is going well.

Here are some more pics of the boat and a video link at the bottom of the page:

If you have just purchased the Revenger from Ebay then I think looking at the trim picture that it was Plant and Tools.

Revenger Plant & Tools / Renegade

That's right. It is the one that was on ebay. Did a deal with the guy. Keen to bring her back to her former glory. Anyone know what hp engines were in her when she was running as Plant & Tools? Any other info on her would be appreciated too.

Many thanks

That's great. Any idea which races she would have run in? What sort of speed she would have achieved?
I want to get her back to racing and am keen to put competitive engines in. Any suggestions?

The Williams-Hawkes brothers had a similar boat 1 X Yanmar 6LPA/ST2P diesel 315 in a 1983 25' Revenger - never forget them arriving in Plymouth looking like a pair of coal miners at the end of a very long shift!

I don't know the boat, but looking at the classes it would fit the "G" motor cruiser rules with up to a total of 13 litres petrol or diesel or with Swipewipes, us and Gordon in E class with up to total 6.5 litre motors.

I was the co driver in the photo (taken in Fowey)

The boat had 2 x 260hp OMC engines for one year only, as the rules were changed to allow 2 x 270hp, so we had to change to remain competitive.

To check if your boat is Renegade, see if the deck is about an inch thick. It was the only Revenger I know of that had an Airex foam lay-up.

Took my deck hatch out yesterday, turns out my deck is balsa core and in fine nick. 3/4" thick in total. At least they built the top half properly! I'm guessing this was the usual layup for the deck?
