setting the 1932 ( Sept 20th ) World Record @ 124.925mph on the St Clair River.
also in the mag is info on the Harmsworth Trophy Race which ran from 1903 > 1933 but missing 1914 > 1919, the first race being help in Ireland, Queenstown the winner S F Edge ( Eng ) in Napier @ 19.53mph, the last race held in 1933 with a speed of 86.937mph won by Gar Woods. The race was held in Ireland ( 1st year) then 1904 Solent England, 1905 Arcachon France, 1906 & 1907 Solent England, 1908 > 1912 Huntington Bay NY, 1913 & 1920 Osborne Bay Eng, 1921 > 1933 Detroit Michigan, with Gar Woods winning all the races from 1920 > 1933.
