Tender to K7

Whilst up at Coniston, attention turned quickly to K777, the Bluebird replica that was being tested from Pier Cottage, the spiritual home of many water speed record attempts by Campbell.

Well, an old Series 1 land rover rolled in while I was there pulling this behind it. Campbell's own Aluminium Tender to Bluebird. A dinky little thing, bout 12' long. Thought it might be of interest to some....Apparently found abandoned in a field.

Nice to see that thanks JF.
Often thought it would be nice to build something along those lines, like the old Albatross. Maybe one day.

It never ceases to amaze me how these stories get embelished over the years. I would hardly call my father in laws driveway a field, slightly overgrown perhaps but not a field. One of my first jobs as an apprentice was to restore the steering wheel, still looks good after 25 years

Albatross

Only just seen this, we have quite a lot of these in the CMBA & I believe this owner is a member (or was), being ali there still tends to be alot around. We had a '61 Climax engined 2 seater at the boat show a couple of weeks back. 100E powered boats like this one are good for 35-40mph, if the engine has been breathed on as this one appears to have been. Climax 2 seater good for high 40's.
