anyone have a 315 yanmar or similar fitted with sterndrive im putting a 315 and bravo 1 in a 26ft boat all in weight 2ton how will it do speed wise

yep i cut it off dont need a cabin it was heavy and brutal lookin plus i needed the room as it is my fishingboat .Cant wait till i get the yanmar and two speed box put in should make a fast boat then

I recall reading a 315 fitted to a scorpion rib around 8.5m and not stepped did just over 55 mph

im not putting the 315 in that black zingaro im putting a 440yanmar in that and the 315 in a sealine very simliar hull the black zingaro is doin 54 at the mo with a 300 diesel and surface drive

forgot to say Gordon on this forum tells me a 29 stepped revenger will do well into the 60's with a 315 yan not bad

they probably do but there was five of these boats built for the army with one off superstructers and were never kitted out they were lyin for 15 years and were then sold i bought three of them to see how it would do on lough neagh as a fishing boat compared to the old clinker built fishing boats the old fishing boats are all around 26feet with lorry engines like volvo fL7 and perkins things like that so i decided to go for a proper marine engine and surface drive brilliant success after a lot of work now everyone wants a v hull and a bit of speed there is a race every year to find out who has the fastest fishing boat it is great craic at the mo and gettin very competative
