Adam Youngers new rib hull !
Once again Adam my congratulations on your beautiful new rib hull design,if the web site blurb is to be believed then it has the makings of a "classic".Check out the link.

I think that your idea of bringing one to the UK to take part in RB8 is an excellent idea,I would love to have a good look over it.

The Technohull 999 has been really successful in Greece - upto boat number 10 in build now I believe.
Went to the recent Athens class 1 race and there were four 999's there as race cover or spectating - two with twin Verado's, one with inboard Mercruiser diesel and one with Mercruiser 496.
Just hope my Round Britain plans come off - and that the race gets the definite go ahead! Certainly all seems to be moving in the right direction on both counts and for me the 999 will be just about perfect - just not sure which way to go on engines at the moment!

Yes and no! The 999 is a previous design fro ma couple of years ago.
However the Technohull 688 is the hull that under all the RIB features would convert to make a great stepped hull sportsboat hull of around 21'
Still working on the new design that we have talked about as I speak.
Cheers
Adam

Similar in so much that they are tapered tube deep V RIBs of about the same length - but that is about it.
Hulls and tubes are very different - the Technohull is stepped and narrower. Then fit-out is very different with the 999 actually having a forward cabin. Engine set-ups are mosty different and so is performance. Could go on and on.
As it happens I carried out the design drawings that converted the existing Revenger Monza hull into the 34 RIB, so know the boat fairly well.

Just designing a new model for them (for the 2008 season) - which will be the 888 - will see what name they come up with for that! Going to be a really interesting boat, a real flyer but still useable as a sports RIB.

It is a design study we are carrying out for a potential P1 boat for a European manufacturer.
Still at early stages and playing around with some ideas!

You should put it on your website, as currently the website only appears to have 10 year old raceboat designs. You should have those in a history section, and your home page should have the current and future stuff!

Very true - and the website is still at it's early stages. Certainly planning on expanding it as the year goes on.
So much happening at the moment - and there will be lots of new work to go up soon. Got a couple of new RIB designs about to be launched (one next week) and then a number of new designs going through for later in the year / early 2008. Then there are the other potential projects!

If all goes to plan - and it is looking very promising - I will be bringing in a 999 later this year. It will be rigged over here and I will use it for the 2008 Round Britain.
With regards to an agency it is one of the things I will be looking into for Technohull and seeing if any suitable companies are interested.

To be honest Adam it wasn't the tubes or the steps which reminded me of the Revenger/Don Shead hull design but the remarkable resemblence of the spray rails.

They do seem to have been quite successful for Revenger over the last 27 years though Marc, the picture i posted is not of Revengers designed spray rails, they are Adams entirely different ones.

You have the advantage of seeing my initial desing drawings, so you know what I like. If you do a search you will find hidden away a tiny nuggett of information on spray rails from the one and only ginger mizz.
With my vast experiance of three race boats, I have to say I am the world authority on spray rails. I just happen to not like any other type...

Fairly conventional spray rails though in both cases.
The new 3C raceboat I'm designing at the moment has something quite different - but not going to be shown until the first boat is built. This will actually be a race RIB with fairly minimal tubes and will race in the French championships, but also measures for 3C and will hopefully compete in the 3C Worlds in Guernsey 2008. Hopefully some non-RIB versions of the design will also be built.
