Angry Another Bloody Speed Limit

JUST HEARD THRU THE GRAPEVINE THAT ABP ( SOUTHAMPTON PORT AUTHORITY ) ARE INTRODUCING A SPEED LIMIT IN THE PORT AUTHORITYS AREA, THIS IS FROM WEST OF STOKES BAY DOWN TO ABOUT HURST CASTLE AND THE WHOLE OF SOUTHAMPTON WATER.

THEIR REASON IS DUE TO THE INCREASING SPEED RELATED ACCIDENTS IN THE AREA OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS, AS YOU KNOW THEY HAVE ALREADY INTRODUCED DRINK DRIVING REGULATIONS BUT THEY HAVE TO HAVE REASON TO STOP YOU, WELL THEY HAVE JUST DONE IT ANOTHER SPEED LIMIT, ACTUAL LIMIT IS NOT YET CLEAR BUT IT APPEARS IT WILL AFFECT ALL VESSELS OVER 15 KNOTS( ABOUT 17.5 MPH ) AND FINES ARE TO BE ON A SLIDING SCALE ACCORDING TO SPEED.

DON'T THINK THEY CAN'T SEE YOU AS THE TOWER AT DOCK HEAD CAN TRACK ALL THE WAY TO COWES AND RELAYED VIA THE CALSHOT TOWER TO THE REST OF THE PORT AREA.
