Another new series?
Does anyone know anything about this lot: SRV Events who claim to be:

SRV Events has been asked to look at assisting the launch of a new Powerboat Series at Seaside Resorts across the UK. This will consist of 6-10 events at different Coastal and Tidal Seaside Resorts across the UK. More information to follow.

Anyone want to make bets on who might be involved?

I think it is relevant - Another series would dilute the already thin racing fleet in the UK unless it was a big budget series like P1 and actually helped promote the sport.
I could have put the question better but I have an inkling of who may be involved although there don't seem to be any more details on the internet that I have found.
If it's outside the RYA then it would be a good test case for excluding them in future!

The are so many questions on for this. What is the point/ reason for someone doing a break away series?
1) not happy with current dictatorships
2) not fairly represented by the club
3) Governing body not doing its bit
And so on. but every thread that so much as touches this subject goes haywire. Seriously does this need/ deserve any attention?

Not sure Id be worried about class dilution, if existing classes are struggling for competitors they'd want to do something pretty amazing to get it off the ground. And if they do, fair play! Got to be only good for the sport no? But in reality it's not looking good for any new class is it?

Definately not. and being my cynical self, It will definately depend on who is involved. as soon as that info comes out then we will see which direction it will go.

SRV Events
Reading between the lines, they are a promotions company and state that they have been "asked to look at assisting the launch of a new Powerboat Series at Seaside Resorts across the UK". It doesn't sound like it's something that they themselves are organising. I'm wondering if it was linked to the original OPUK plans. Can anyone enlighten us to avoid too much guesswork and speculation?
