Indeed! i use sodium hypochlorite for cleaning white plastics, teak and, well everything really, it's cheap as chips at 20 quid for 50ltrs so should do for the season. Shouldn't kill too many whelks so long as the idea doesn't catch on!
Still doesn't help with the trim area though, think i'll go with the propspeed for that

It's easier said than done though. Storage out of the water is an issue for starters, and the marina and surrounding area is heavily covered by CCTV.
Guernsey is a very small island and there's police around all the time, I would only manage it once or twice before i'm caught. They operate a zero tolerace system over here and the penalty for incorrect load is 6 months off the road and unlimited fine. Not to mention i'm a registered marine trader so it wouldn't look very good for me to get caught towing illegally! It's just not an option!
You can get away with that kind of stuff in the uk, no problem. That's just not the case over here, and there's no slips i can use other than the ones in the two marinas.

That time we launched your R16 at rocquaine worked fine, you just have to put up with the reversing a mile out to see until its deep enough...

That's true! Seeing as the boat sits about 3ft off the deck when on the trailer, i think i'm gonna need another boat to tow it in! Just as well it's quick for the 20 mile drive round the island so i can get to herm!!

On the bright side, they scrapped the hike in marina fees today! whoop!

noooooo! as if worrying about tie bars wasn't enough!!

I'm definately going to bag the lower units, which leaves me with just the trim pump/saddle area. I was looking at my mate's boat the other day and noticed the only areas on his trim unit free from any growth is the bits covered in white grease....
It's stayed put, and killed off everything, whilst keeping the bits underneath in good condition! I think i've found my solution!

Now before you paint the whole boat with white grease just remember that it doesn't mix with lifting strops too well

Ha ha, yeah i've seen that one before!

I'm going to antifoul the hull with blake's hard racing, the white grease is just for the trim assy and saddle!
Just imagine how many rattle cans you'd need to grease the whole boat, bet someone's tried it!!
