Definately a tint. In the right hands and set up well, these boats are very quick with a 90hp or 2litre. Dominated the 1.3 litre ocr worlds in guernsey in the hands of the norweigens back in 93 or 94. Stuart Atlee raced in the national B class championships in one. I believe this particular one would have been in stuarts posession at some point. The colour scheme very much like that of the old Emirates team, run by Kevin hoare. A guy from Jersey also ran one with a 2 litre back in the late ninety's.

With regards to the Argo, the 17 Argo was very good in OCR C Class, but a bit of a handful in the rough. Chris Auger, Matt Sheppard and Mark Kirk all had success's in that Hull. Matt Sheppard went on to race the 21 Argo in 2 Litre and had several wins (including rough conditions.). The Gittin's Brothers also had several successfull seasons in their 21 Argo. Both hulls are great for OCR.

Hope that's enough history for you.

wow..

Stumpy, what a wealth of info!, thanks for that, you seem to know your stuff!, its not really what i am looking for but seems like a good buy for the right price?, i would like to know why he thinks its an Argo tho?, i'm not the type of guy to start emailing him saying its this or that, even tho there's people out there like that!

But with all the info you and others have given it seems like something nice to have...better than hanging up in a shed! haha..

thanks again

The only other inboard ski-race boat I know's for sale is Lenny Croxson's Hallett Vector. The last time I saw it it was immaculate but I think Lenny might want a lot of money.

The boat on the first pics is definately a Tintorera 21 race edition! Friend of mine has one just like it! Do not know how it is in UK, but that edition is pretty rare in Norway. It works best with a tuned 1.3L engine No use putting more power on it cause it does not get much faster. Good luck

p.s. I still want a v8 inboard ski boat! [/QUOTE]

Has anyone ever seen anything of the yellow Hallett Vector that was originally imported at the same time as Lenny's. It was owned by Barry Larson in Scotland.

Yep that was Stuarts boat. I know as He's my bro!!! Last saw it at Dateline Marine along with one of the 16' Phantoms that belonged to the Emirates team a while back. The Tint was breaking its back if I remember rightly. The best person to talk to will be Ian Atlee on here as he is the importer for Tintoreras.

Thought i would just put everyone straight on the race boat A85 on sale on ebay.

Yes it is a Tintorera. It is not a race deck version, but a standard open decked Tintorera 20. I bought the boat in 1994 having raced against them in the 1993 World Cup, yes they are quick with 1.3's on them. I initially raced it with a 115 Mercury on the back, and it was clocked in Jersey at 68 mph in choppy conditions. The Tintorera was quick in both rough and flat conditions, and could also out turn a 16 Phantom ( ask Ian about that ). In 2002 I sold the boat to the Emirates Team, where it only raced once with an XR2 on the back. This was at Ramsgate in very rough conditions, unfortunatly this took its toll on the boat ripping out the transom. A previous repair to the rear r/h corner also came away. Looking at the pictures on ebay nothing has been done to it since then. There is a lot of work required to repair this boat.
