Bit of a long shot but...

Has anyone seen or does anyone know of a boat called "Tintorera" ? All I know is it 20ft white with a light blue seating area. May be an ex OCR or racing of some sort (the sort where you can have yellow number plate with black numbers). Can anyone tell me what it is and what its like?

They were known as one of the quickest monohulls for 1.3lL (3B) racing - but also had a reputation for being ready to bite you if you got it wrong.

Two raced over here in 2L OCR / Offshore 2000 - and were again quick, but a handful if not set-up correctly.

K9 & Adam,
Was either of them that raced white with a light blue seating area?
May have been fitted with a yamaha autolube engine.
Thanks
Dan

Tintorera's are now built in Poland by a Norwegian company called Nordkap, Jets Marivent, who are the UK concessionaires for Jonnyrudes and Seadoos are the official agents for them in the UK!

TINTORERA POWERBOATS

Good to see some discussion about Tintorera Powerboats. Just to correct a few points. Firstly the boats were not banned from OCR, in fact Sharon raced one in 2002 with an XR2 in OCR 'A' Class. The boat has been quite successful in both OCR and Offshore, where it won the 1.3 World Championship and the OCR World Cup.

Bruce Maltwood and Ian Vautier both had Tintorera's and they were based in Jersey. Tintorera Powerboats UK are registered with the RYA and were homolgated as such by myself back in late 1993.

The Yellow 'Tint' on ebay, originally Bruce Maltwoods - was sunk off Jersey, back in 2000 and so we were all quite bemused by its
appearance from the deep! It had obviously, spent some time on the rocks even though it was stated that it had been under water for only a couple of hours!

Oh well, it was nice to see the old girl!
