Boat Datalogger?

Has anyone tried something like this on a boat?
G-Tech Pro Competition Performance Meter

Thinking it would make prop tuning a bit easier, proper 0-60, quarter mile times etc
Or even an iPhone app that does the same thing?

I used Race Technology logger for many years collecting a lot of useful date.
There are several Apps now that are good !
