Hey Gazza I have often thought about going up to scotland for a play on the lochs. Whats the crack, can you just turn up, launch and mess about?

As long as you keep away from Loch Lomond as it has a 50mph speed limit on it and you need to register,
A way around the registration on all uk lakes and lochs is Small Ships Register 25 quid for 5 years and the numbers only need to be 30 mm high.
Back to the lochs in most its a matter of run what you brung and as fast as you want, sometimes small launch fees, on the west coast there is a lot of sheltered sea lochs.
Not so many do-gooders up here, we can still have fun
If you were planning to come up make a weekend of it and we'll get out for a blast.
Loch Tays no too bad 16 miles long as well.

Following on from Gazza's comments, there is always Loch Earn head where I do my ski-ing. Scenery is stunning although we can go through the extremes in weather conditions from glass like calm to a decent swell.

Was up there one day in August and it was so rough we were actually taking off - no good for skiing but the kids had great fun on the inflatables. Seem to remember being the only boat out at the time

You can launch at the Loch Earnhead water sports centre http://www.lochearnhead-water-sports.co.uk/ - not sure what they charge these days.

Plenty of accomodation close by.

Certainly won't argue with that point.

Also need your midgie repellent for those left sitting on the jetty

LoL! Comparing to your long lake it is a puddle. I can see you could get good speed on the front lake, but you only allow boat owners on the joinning lakes behind with the island, or has that all changed now?

Boffin Coffin had a couple of merc's

If this is russell then Hi my wife & i have spent lots of money with you waterskiing on your lake. I think you knew of my father, he lived in Eversley down by the Golden Pot and had Boffins Coffin untill mid 80s. He called it resurrection but his taste in colours for the boat wasnt great. It was once brown then Orange rusty colour and then on to being cream with red topside. It had a chrysler 120 on it! as i got older i could feel the boat needed more power on it. It was a great boat in rough seas thou.
If i knew if it was still about I'd restore it to Boffins Coffin.

You also must of remembered my stupid brother with his Fabio CASA 1882 R/C model boat! he jumped the wake of your ski boat and it sank, you had to go and rescue it.

You once Had the Fletcher 199 my bro and i purchased from a friend of mine that he purchased from you too! Its missing its dash plaque serial number! I dont suppose you have it about do you. Only Joking i guess it didnt have one were ever you got it from.
