Wont regular 2k acrylic or poly topcoat blister? I have done a few boats in the past but never any bottom work, and have seen a few that the bottom had badly blistered on with paint. Your thoughts appreiated. By the way, the boat is kept in fresh water only for approximately 16 to 20 weeks at a time and stored in winter.
Here are a couple of boats I have done previously

Don't think awlgrip is water proof, so stay clear of it. It is fantastic for the topsides, but will not work on the hull. We painted an entire boat in awlgrip, but stopped at the waterline. No point in wasting quality paint.

If the boat lie in the water shall, you can't take 2k Polyuertan or Acryl.
Lacquer, no matter which, throws blisters after 2-4 months in the water.
You can coat only with Gelcoat, that holds, then.
Oder Epoxy Primer and Antifouling.

Have you doen the entire boat with gel? Looks amazing!
What tip did you use? 2.5mm? How did you think it and how much?

I know there is a product called Duratec. You have to mix it in gelcoat (1:1) ratio. You can almost spray it like paint. So not much sanding after you sprayed it...

I know duratec. Better is the coating from Croma!
I don't like it, it is too soft for me. It is not so hart like Gelcoat. But better for sanding.
The phantom 21 on the picture has been coated complete with Gelcoat.
We spray it with an Airless installation.
Bows 240 to 2000 and polishes it.
I like the Gelcoats of Reichold the most.they are the most solidly at the UV and have the bigest shine.
The phantom on the picture is the first boat in Germany in silver Gelcoat.
I have coated already many boats with Gelcoat.
We also varnish, but lacquer throws blisters if it lies in the water too long.
Or if a PVC tarpaulin lies on it.

It doenst look like silver in the picture. Do you have more pictures?

Well you are right about the Duratec thing. Yes it is easier to spray and sand but it is less hard than only gelcoat

What do you use to fill scratches? I use epoxy so is it possible to put gell over the epoxy? I know in theory it's not possible but will it be that a big problem for some small repairs?

Thx

DEEP scratches are laminated.
The new Laminat becomes flat sanding then.
If the scratches are not so deep is replenished it with Gelcoat .
