How about this for thinking on - cats have a zone of performance in which they are amazing - but outside of it they'll be poor. Mono's have a broader zone of performance, but 'peak' performance isn't as good.

At the risk of being moderated
"Theres nothing wrong with a wet pu**y"
Horses for courses, I'd not agree on a broader zone.
Lets settle for the wording "Each excel in differing envlopes of the envlope, normally at opposites but sometimes can co-incide"
Ice is getting thin now................

from the above photo, you can tell where the bat boat wings came from. however the fur will probably cause excess drag.
The bow tank inlet looks intresting though, i never saw one with teeth before!!!

If I put one on the water I'll show you back to back with a monohull, then you will know why it's difficut to describe the differences.

Cats 24feet long and under are a handfull especiaaly in a following sea
I agree with Matt, the cat has a higher peak performance but acroos a narrower conditions range, Monos go in the rough but there peak is not as high
You have to remember that as the boats get longer the catamaran performance increases over the mono, I am talking 29-30ft and above
