Check Engine warning on XS300

My new 300XS is coming up with CHECK ENGINE on the tacho when the ignition is on. (Before starting) The warning remains when the engine is running. If you cycle through the various screens on the display the little AL sign flashes on each screen so it doesn't help in establishing what the problem is.

Have plugged it into a Mercury computer and there are no faults coming up, it seems to run fine although I have not put the boat in the water as yet to properly test her.

There is only 0.1 Bar of water pressure on the hosepipe so not much, could that be making it unhappy? (Water comes out of the tell tale)

I am a bit wary of taking it to sea as-is but can't see what else to try.

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers
James

Mmmmmm
It's funny putting these new motors on,usually throws up a few frustrating teething problems.
Is the battery 1000 mca ?
Did you use a new harness or existing wiring from pre iOS instalation ? On my 200xs we had a broken wire in an old loom so every time we switched on the warning beep didn't go.
Other fault codes come up and should be able to be tracked down with reference to the handbook or lap top.

I go out of Portsmouth Harbour most evenings, if you want to test one night and you break down I can tow you back.
