Point 1 Maxwell did not arrive before as his eldest son was getting married.
Point 2 who was going around running down Maxwell including saying he had had a boating accident and generally was running him down??
This next point has come to me from 3 different sources that as you say Gary the UK backed Maxwell until the final vote??
Then didn't?? I say again I do not know if this is true or not BUT 2 of the three I have known for more than 20 years........................
What ever the rights/wrongs/facts/fiction I am only after the truth not here to cause any trouble was it a fair vote or??? votes for posts as it is being STATED.......

Wasn't it apt that the election took place on Remembrance Sunday! Ok, Chuilli now takes over from Frohling, any change there, I doubt it. Where the biggest change will come is who will be the new Secretary General?
Regine said a while back that she would probably quit the post after the GA. That means in the next few months a vacancy will need to be filled, a well paid one with an exclusive postal address. The likely candidate would probably come from a powerboating background, perhaps even someone who managed a N. A.

Point 1 Fair comment but in my view it didn't help him as it didn't give him enough time to sit down with the other UIM delegates but i do understand that sometimes there are other commitments.
Point 2 I did not hear at any time any of the British delegates running down Maxwell in any way shape or form. However at the UIM it is all about politics there were 5 candidates running for president and all trying to do their bit to put everyone else off the other candidates so that they could win. It is no different to a general election in this country where every party will tell you that the others are rubbish and they are better!!!
Point 3 The UK backed Maxwell on all the voting, we did not change the vote at all. Not even at the end as you have been led to believe! As the ballots are conducted in a fashion where nobody gets to see which country voted for who other than those casting the vote. The ballot paper was then taken and placed in a ballot box which was then taken away for counting and the results announced.
Again i can assure everybody that the voting was conducted in a fair manner and that the UK did not and i repete did not change it's vote at the last minute.
What would be the point of the UK backing Maxwell and then voting against him at the last minute. Answer no point

OK,
Time to be a man here.
Dear old Mr Manchester has had teh balls to state clear and consise statements on what happened, whilst all there has been in return is inuendo and unnamed 'heard froms'.
If you have a fact that is different, then make the statement. It is wrong to bully him like this where he has come onto the forum and given direct answers to some dodgy questions.
He has placed things on record. He should be given credit for that. It is unusual for any RYA official to place something on record, here he is doing so.
He has helped make changes to the way things work at the RYA since he took on his role. I also like taking the piss about him, but there is a line where it is no longer funny or costructive, and in MY opinion this has been crossed.
Give credit where credit is due, and it is due here.
Feck - makes me sound like an extra in the Brokeback Turkey film!
Everyone pick on Puddyfoote for the rest of the week!

Ok. Fact one, the Egyptian candidate was not a full UIM Member 60 days before the election took place, he only became a full member at the GA. So why was he allowed to stand?
Fact Two, a represenative from each candidate should have been present in the room where the ballot boxes were taken to when they were emptied, they weren't.
Fact Three, the French candidate has lodged a protest against the elections with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Fact Four, Beaverbrook was at the General Assembly earlier in the week to speak to those delegates whom he hadn't flown to see before the elections took place, but Gary you would have known that if you had asked him.
