Class 3 4L & 6L

This is mostly a question for kiwiracer since I don't know anyone else in 6L.

I notice from the UIM rules that the 'epa' version of 6L is only twin opti 200xs - the same as 4l.

What is this doing to the class?

I would imagine it to be a bit of a retro step, losing up to 200hp from the boats is surely going to kill the class overnight?

Are the 6L boats competitive in 4L/400hp?

That's because he put a canopy on it and went 6 litre with it.

from what I understand Mercury has ceased production of the 2.5EFI as a complete outboard, however due to consumer laws in the US they have to guarantee parts for 10 years(?), this means that powerheads are still going to be available
Mercury are marketing Optimax XS motors in 200 and 2.5 form
The rumours are rife that the four cylinder Verado is going to be available as a performance motor, reputedly up to 350-400hp!
Your guess ia as good as mine
But 6 litre boats wont perform with less horsepower, well, I know mine wont
Perhaps you poms might know a bit more
At least I hope so, because the bloody Lions couldnt play rugby!
