We had some good feed back this year for a british sports boat rally, a show of all the home grown talent! Drivers powerboat club would be the ones to talk to on this and as someone has rightly stated, Copoc would be a good bet too. Good luck.

Hi Beefur
Our web-site is www.ukformulafutureoffshoreraceclub.co.uk
Your boat would probably be elligible for our E900 class subject to being agreed by our committee. If you would like to pm me a contact number I can get our chairman to give you a call.
thanks

nice to see decent discussions coming back to my little thread
TBC Refers to a particular person, who sometimes posts on this website/forum.
He is an ex-powerboat racer, & TBC are his initials.
I trust that this clears up the question, following my colleague Chiao's posting, which seems to have caused a degree of headscratching.

You are already aware that your hull does not meet the class requirements so in answer to your question, no your boat cannot race next year. That said if you have a rig that meets the criteria we would welcome you to race with us. I do wonder why you changed from a hull, which fitted the class when you bought your etec engine, to one that didn't?...

Hello John

In answer to your question Denis Swann owns 3 of the 20+ boats. E10 which Jake races. E12 which is a 'try before you buy' boat, and 069 which is the E900 Millie Pascoe has raced and won the championship in this year.
This comment is neither productive or positive.
As a club there is alot of work that goes into making it grow and succeed. We attend numerous shows throughout the year promoting what we do. E12 has also proved successfull with 3 of the people who have raced it going on to order their own boats. Denis might not be everyones cup of tea, but he is passionate about racing and supporting our club.

hi UKFFORC
Here is a copy of your requirements for E900 class

E900

Two seater race boat with driver and navigator

• 16'-18'11" Production hull from panel with Evinrude 90hp Etec outboard

• Cost second hand approx £8,000, new approx £14,000

• Entry Fees - per weekend £170

• Age - 16 upwards.

Approved hulls comprises of Concorde, Driver, Fletcher, Marshan, Phantom, Ring. Further hulls subject to approval from the club.

Now i would indeed qualify on the first note
the second note is for a 16'-18'11" and it is made from panels(wooden) but the engine is JOHNSON 115hp v4 pure race engine with short shaft so maybe the engine will not qualify
i can load pictures if that might help or give any clarification

Hi Beefur
As I said subject to committee approval your hull should meet the E900 class spec. The fact she is made of wood would not be held against her!
As far as the engine goes your current engine would not meet the rules. All of our engines are environmentally friendly green engines (including our S250 class from 2011) and by everyone having the same engine the racing becomes about driver ability. If you would like to talk to someone in person as opposed to via a forum please feel free to pm me a contact number or alternatively our contact details can be found on the contacts page of our web-site.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do - at the end of the day its about having fun on the water

It is an issue with a step/notch/pad but I really don't want to get into an argument on specific cases and Paul is more than aware of why his hull doesn't fit. The decision was made regarding our rules by our committee and it was a unanimous decision.

Fair play and thanks for clearing that up for me .. although i would of thought that a step on your courses would of been a disadvantage rather than advantage

That is absolute rubbish. I built the boat to the information that your club had published, I still have the info saved from your site! If you like I can publish it again to refresh your memory. Any 18-20 foot boat allowed. Then at the start of your season decide to start naming boats that are allowed, may I point out that most are also out of production. With regards to the step issue, coming from boat designers it is not a stepped hull, and why can the rings run with a notched transom? Absolutely mental! I would have thought as a club you would welcome new things for the future, as this is what your club is called. Why not welcome the competition?

Sorry beefur, gonna keep out this thread. Good luck with what ever you do. Of course your other options are the basic races that go on through the year, keep an eye on the calender.

Just one more post, I had already sold my 18,but reading you message I think you are insinuating something so say what you mean. I changed my out fit to support YOUR class, and at the time of building I did ask for spec and rules which I did not get. So I went to the pb1 definition of a sports ski boat. But of course you know all this, Who was on the commitee when this was decided?

hi to ukfforc and to renegade

if, in the interest of peace and harmony,
i could help

i have, as you both know no axe or affinity with anyone, but i do have an open mind and can help in coming to an understanding

if you UKFFORC send me the details of the particular hull design in which renegade wants to race in
and if you renegade send me the specs of your chosen boat you wish to race in,
then i can mediate between the two of you and very hopefully come to a satifactory conclusion to suit both parties

as i said i have no affinity with anyone, i don't even have a background in powerboating

just a layman, but i can and am willing to mediate to help

let me know by PM if you want to go along these lines
