Just an update re Blue Moppie.......
Finally got thru to the Musuem and can confirm B M is still in the compound.
They (the musuem) are now in discussion with a fibreglass specialist to see the cost to repair and to put her back to "VISUAL" restoration etc, she will then possible be put out front as an outside exhibit by the picnic area.....
Atleast she will be on display and not a bloody gazebo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: hugegrin:

Thank you for you most kind offer but feel, despite Jon Iddon being one of the true gentleman in our sport.
I do feel that the fee and double standard it would imply,I must respectfully decline................................

Broad Jumper

Was talking to a guy today who owns Broad Jumper - a formula27 from the early sixties.

Entered a few ctc etc.

She was renamed miss ???? at sometime but I can't quite remember the name.

Apparently she is in running condition but not smart. Not original petrols but diesels now.

She is up for sale although I can't find it on the web. If anyone's interested I'll find out more

Ok a bit more info.

She's lying at Paglesham. Still fitted with the low line perkins which apparently are still serviceable. The guy is not looking for a fortune for this, but there is some interest.

She's been fitted with a cabin which I guess needs removing.

I'm going to get over a take few piccies when I get the chance

And here she is

Ebay item no 270207021263.

Ignore the comments from Steve, he's just a broker hence the non committal talk.

From chatting to the owner he's got nothing to hide and if someone makes him a reasonable offer he'll sell it not mess about. He didn't know what it was when he took it on.

If anyone wants the owners number pm me.

I would but I have been threatened from swmbo that another project boat to go with my two runners and one wreck would probably be going a step to far

Ds Boats

Trawling through past posts, references to T2 /Miss Enfield etc have got the better of me,so below is listed some info on the subject

Avenger OO7
Unohoo - Ford Persuader
Miss Dunhill - Robert Bruce - Sundancer - Pobjoy Mint

Miss Enfield 1 - Marlbro Enfield
Miss Enfield II - Yellowdrama - Blitz - British Buzzard - Seawolf - LPW
Enfield Avenger - Unowot -Unoembassy - Unowot - Unomint

In 1969 when the outdrives for OP I appeared (Red Tornado,The Cigarette)
the tin Miss Enfield 1 was built incorporating them, while T2 the wood Souter was also built in the same year having conventional shaft drive.Prior to the CTC,Sopwith was due to drive the tin boat but a problem with one of the fuel tanks could not be rectified in time,so the deal was for Tommy to drive the wood boat while Don drove the tin boat providing he didn`t actually overtake Tommy, less fuel and all that.So off they go with TBS retiring early leaving the way clear for Don to have a battle with Aronow in `The Cigarette` with no hope of finishing the race, but at least pushing him to hopefully break. As it happens mechanical problems hit Miss Enfield 1 before the fuel ran out.By the way,T2 became Hot Bovril and was then used as a plug for Hot Omlette.
