I can guarantee that you will be denied entry to record week this year with that boat.
After last year there was a big discussion with regards to amateur drivers turning up to Coniston and running something that is unsafe if mishandled.
It was confirmed that only people with pedigree or to have competed regulary in races during that year will be allowed to run at records week.
It has absolutely nothing to do with yourself personally but your accident last year highlighted the neccessity to have a ruling made.

Any boat (particularly one with an engine) is unsafe if mishandled!!
By definition, an amateur is merely someone who pursues a sport as a pastime as apposed to that sport being their profession.
I understand that someone should have experience to participate in such an event and that their boat and equipment must be safety checked but surely deciding is someone is experienced 'enough' is subjective.
I'd guess that Mr Rat was only jokin abot the twins anywho!

Brilliant sequence of photos, they deserve an award on their own,i would have a look at the life jacket next time,it looks like it came off in one photo, the ride itself, you fall off your horse you get right back on again, the guys got bottle, got to give him that, plus a bit of ballast up front for next time, you will only break records by going beyond the limit, what the limit is we will never know,we all keep trying to go beyond it and always will.

i made a mistake last year as i was in a hurry to get out on the water,i set the trim gauge way to far over and trimmed it there without realising,im human(just)just like anyone else on here,we all make mistakes but that shudnt stop you trying again,im sure all the racers on here have crashed boats so shud you all be allowed to go to coniston??????
the idea behind twinning it is so that i dont have to trim it so much to crack the ton,im releying on horsepower, and jan flipped last year too at coniston so is he allowed to run again??its only a ******* boat on a massive lake,if it goes wrong then nobody else will get hurt, its my risk just like anyone elses, anything can happen to any boat at anytime and cause an accident.so rather than label me a "nob"id appreciate any decent advice and support

I see where you're coming from, but the fact that you went too far beyond the boat's capabilities last year will probably make the officials nervous. I'd imagine you'd need to prove you can handle the boat properly and know it's/your limits with the one engine first before letting you out with twice the power, imagine if you went too far to get that little bit more speed then.
Just bolting twice the power to the back of a boat to overcome a lack of true driving skill in an attempt to make 100mph doesn't sound like much of a solution to me.
You're right, it will only be you that gets hurt, but what will it do to the image of the sport, already struggling, when it comes out that the officials allowed a guy to run a crazy boat with next to no experience and kill himself?
If i were you i'd return this year with a single engine, do it properly, and show that you're capable of handling it properly. Next year get it rigged with twins and they'll probably be more than happy to let you go for it.
Not wishing to criticise at all, I'm all for crazy crazy power, and i've tried some nutty stuff in the past myself. Just trying to play devil's advocate and help you achieve your goal.
James
